Le SRAS-CoV-2 est le virus qui est à l’origine de la COVID-19. Le SRAS-CoV-2 est un virus enveloppé qui peut être détruit par la perturbation de sa couche lipidique grasse externe. C’est une Infection respiratoire avec période d’incubation : estimée 1-12,5 jours médiane 5-6 jours. C’est un Virus ARN avec couronne similaire à MERS et SARS CoV2. Il a une origine zoonotique et l’animal la plus incriminé est la chauve-souris avec un transfert humain à humain efficace. La transmission du SRAS-CoV-2 se fait principalement suivant deux modes suivants: direct (appelé transmission interhumaine horizontale) et indirect.
